Haluk Demirhan
Founder of Commercium, an independent app studio in London.
Statistician by training, founder by practice.
Now
I run Commercium as its only founder, working with AI agents and modern development tools to give one person the reach of a much larger team. Our north star: make what should not be possible for one person.

How I work
- Evidence decides what ships
- A statistics background means I instrument what I build and let the numbers decide what comes next, rather than shipping on instinct and hoping.
- Machines for leverage
- AI agents, coding assistants and automation do the work that can be systematised. Direction, judgement and responsibility for the result stay with me.
- Small, sharp and finished
- Each app does one job well and gets its own world: its own look, its own voice. Scope stays small so quality can stay high.
Writing
- One founder, many worlds: how I run an app studio with AI agents
Why I started Commercium, how the work is split between me and AI agents, and what never gets delegated.
- The most expensive problem in a startup isn’t always the market
Why misalignment between founders is harder to survive than a bad product decision, and the governance that keeps disagreement productive.
- MCP: AI’s “USB-C” moment
How the Model Context Protocol became a shared standard in 20 months, and why its governance layer matters as much as the integration.
- Aim to Moon, day 1: I launched my app (and broke it on the same day)
Launching a subscription app as a solo founder, and breaking payments on launch day.
- From data-driven organisations to AI-driven individuals
How the habits of data-driven organisations are moving to individuals who run their work as systems with AI.
- Why every startup project must be data-driven
Why startups that measure, test and let evidence decide outperform those that run on intuition.
